i agree with this i have posted many models and know they have been downloaded quite a few times but i have only seen like one person that actually posted about their build. the greatest thank you i can imagine is to post that they built it and tell about their experience building it.

it kind of feels like you are asking a question or giving a gift and 178 people take one or stand there looking at you, and only 1 says anything to you. that's the rudeness factor that seems to be getting to people who expect feedback.

I have a personal blog where I document the process of the models I design. Part of the stuff I put there are mirrored in my designer space in this forums. Anyway, when I complete my model, I upload exclusively to PM's download section. I then leave instructions on my blog site to head on over to PM. I also add that they'll need to register and post at least 1 message to be eligible to access the download site. I also state that the PM site is clean and won't bother you with spam so it's 100% worry free.

Believe it or not, I get a lot of emails demanding I upload to an open sharing site like 4shared, mediafire, direct email attachment, etc.

For me this is more rude than not saying thanks.

AGREED
...although I refuse to use 4shared for similar reasons?!
lol too many hoops to jump through.
(I believe it is 4shared that you must sign in with a Yahoo or Google or FB account?)

Its incredible the number of anonymous users who are unwilling to sign up
or introduce themselves on the forums, just to get to the free rewards.
This is also the case on my airbrush forum (...because certain sections are
restricted to members only).

I know people who are proud of their impressive collection of pirate downloads
...and are unwilling to reveal any personal information by registering at a forum
such as this one. Maybe that one is self explanatory?

I don't want to jump through too many hoops, or recite fairy incantations
or BEG for access to "God's Library"...but having to do a little work to get
a free reward shouldn't be an issue. Registering on a forum like this or
fulfilling some basic sign up obligations is not too much to ask - I think.

I guess no one really cares anymore! :( my chances of getting people to get notice is 0 not a chance at all maybe it's time to pull down my blog and stop making paper model all together! it's no use to get notice! :(

The creation itself is the true reward.

Might help if you put a link to your website in your signature here, so it's attached to every post you make... ditto for the OP - I have no idea who you guys are or what your websites might be, and what models you might have to offer, unless you tell us.

The note about putting the blog address in your signature is something I tell a lot of designers. And yes, I have seen your models on pirate sites, not that I have ever been to one ... whew, didn't get struck by lightning
