So I use the scalpel blades for the major part of work and the X-acto only for special issues. :-)
Wow. I have used scapel blades and liked them, but not on a regular basis as I have never found an economical source where they are cheaper in the US than No 11 type blades.

Mostlly I use Stanley box cutter blades, or generic equivalent I have touched up tip with a stone or diamond hone. Can be bought real cheap at Harbor Freight Tools.

I got a box of 100 from a buddy that bought like 2000 of them in bulk for resale on ebay - Ebay is the place!

Thanks for the heads up on those Phil - I might check them out! I have never used anything besides an 11 so I dont have any experience with them!

For cutting formers and heavy laminations I use a Tajima snap off blade razor box cutter utility knife with 30 degree blades (thanks for the tip Bomarc). The LC-302 model also has a twist lock that keeps the blade from slipping (not the one pictured). Again these and packs of blades are easily found on E-Bay. I bought mine from and replacement blades from this seller -> Tajima snap off blade razor box cutter utility knife 30 on eBay.ca (item 160459551676 end time 19-Nov-10 23:24:44 EST) other craft and tool sellers have them as well.

Scalpel blades can be easily found on E-Bay as well. New and used scalpel blades, Business Industrial, Home Garden on eBay.ca

Excel all the way for me. I prefer the larger blades (Don't know the number, but they're bigger than #11) and they last much better than X-Acto or Revell.

And I agree with Chris: Ebay is the Bomb-diggity!

I have been using that knife from Olfa and I am very satisfied with it. The rectangular shape of it really takes out the rolling effect on the round hobby knives.
