Free apps used in design

Russell - I made a tutorial using blender and Gimp.... both free. It shows how to make square/rectangular objects and how to texturize them. I dunno if you want to take a shot at remaking your see through cube with it? personally I find blender to take more time to learn adequately than I have on hand but its good overall - especially for a free app Let me know!

You could try Meta, free and simple.

I just noticed this professional quality design software that's now being offered as freeware
since Microsoft took over the company (Caligari). I haven't really used it yet, but it looks promising.

Probably won't be around forever...

I'm really impressed by all this!

It is a very good tool, judging by a first impression after a tour in their site.

I have now to decide if to move to this (with the obvious huge strength to learn from zero this software) or to remain in Blender.

The good part is that TrueSpace includes a character animator and face morpher. So I could also move from Poser and use only one toll for both.

Final quality seems to be really high and there are many tools ready to be used easily.

I wander if this software will be left free for ever and without any updates or it will be presented a new commercial tool.

It looks very comprehensive and appears to do nurbs. Totally baffles me at the moment but it would be good to play with I think.
