Scoring Lines with a modified scoring table

I bought me a "Martha Stewart" scoring board to use.

Neat stuff except for one small problem, I'm not just lining up along an edge and scoring sheets of paper to make envelopes and such. What I really needed was something that would indicate where the scoring "valleys" were so I could line things up.

Then I remembered my crushed "laser level".

About half an hour in the workshop and I had removed the guts of the laser and cobbled together a crude but effective stand (that allowed me to align things as well).

The Problem...Where are the "Valleys" located under the paper?

The Solution: An alignment laser

The Results

So now I can line up oddball angles and swipe a boning tool in precise, straight, lines for FAST and accurate scoring!

It works even better than I expected. I can FLY when I'm scoring now!

Looks like you will have a haunted house in plenty of time for halloween.

I built that just last week for a friends child.

Karl,
Yeah, "house on the cliff" and a few other Halloween themed items I'm working on this year. I was SO LAZY last year all I made was a Fiddler's Green haunted house and a few paper jack o' lanterns.

Very Creative idea!

Now you just need to figure out an easy way to have the laser do the cutting for you... ha ha ha!

Sometimes I wish I had a laser cutter, but I don't think I'd enjoy programming it very much and I do like cutting out the model parts, I've just always hated scoring stuff though this makes it a LOT easier!
