laser cutter

hello all,

just came across this at another forum.

https://darklylabs.com/

it's a hobby laser cutter/plotter that's less than USD 1000. anyone using this? wonder how small and accurate the parts it can cut? a while ago I was looking at die cutting machines like the silver bullet and the knk maxx but decided not to purchase because it seemed like the mechanical blade has it's limit.

thanks

amit

This really looks fabulous - and it could well in fact be worth the price.

Does anyone have any information about this in terms of actual use?

Will it cut from a kit or does it only cut from an image? The specs are bit dry - but it looks like it would handle Adobe etc.

not sure about pre-printed items though!

I'm gonna guess that you need to run vector software like a plotter. So, if it takes the standard files like EPS you should be good to go.

Looks good. The A3 size is listed at $800 USD.

From the FAQ:
Quote:
The Emblaser with work with any graphic program that can save out some standard formats.

Each Emblaser kit is supplied with a licensed copy of Cut2D-Laser software. This will allow you to create Emblaser ready cutting files from any .dxf, .dwg, .eps, .ai or .pdf vector format.

Raster image engraving is also possible using third party programs such as PicLaser-Lite or LaserInk. These programs also create Emblaser ready cutting files from image formats such as .jpg and .bmp.
