Problem with the wiki is that its not portable as an e-book would be.
Fishcarver - what do you have in mind and have you got the bases for anything - ideas etc?

Chris: Initially, my idea is to see" A simple outline of and organization of the Tips and Techniques section, along the lines of a good textbook"....call it a "procedure manual" for card modelers ( opps, almost typed "carvers" in there!! ) of all levels. Have any of you ever seen "The Model Builder's Encyclopedia", published in the UK in the mid-80s, sadly, now long out of print?
This e-book, and the wiki, can stand side by side as identical twins. Just my idea. Willing to help! JR Jim Roberts Fishcarver "Too dam many katz. Not enough effing space"

How about making an 'outline' for the book; like naming chapters, finding out what should be in there and in what order, tools would be a nice staring point, i could photograph them, and give a comment on everyone of them,
Use the existing wiki as a guideline and add things to it, maybe even edited the best threads from the forum, like spoked wheels, laminated propellors, printing on metallic paper etc.. here's a starter History Today's choice from FG to Halinsky Where to get; printed or digital. Tools, Scissors, knives ,circle cutters, hole punches etc Techniques; printing, laminating, scoring ,tabs, butt-joints edge-coloring etc Materials; paper, cardboard, metallic-paper, glues, spraymounts, varnish Special techniques; canopies, propellors, spoked wheels open for suggestions! |

I don't envy the editor of such a project. It's a huge amount of work to be done!
