I'm an old fashioned X-Acto guy.

I use two: My heavy duty #2 and my lighter #11 with corresponding blades.

Both have the metal handles and work well. I'm intrigued by the idea of using heatshrink to provide a non slip grip though... hmmm...

Just as a follow up, I've been using my Tajima knife exclusively for about a week and half, and I like it a lot. I haven't picked up my X-Acto X-2000 once in all that time. I have had to snap off a couple of blades, as I'm doing a lot of mat board cutting as of late, but that's pretty hard on any knife type, so I can't fault the Tajima much. It's still out lasting an X-Acto. Where the Tajima really shines for me is cutting out the lighter paper parts, like fuselage skins, etc. My edge cutting accuracy had gone up quite a bit.

I went back to the eBay seller I bought my first knife from, and picked up a second knife and a couple of extra blade packs (10 blades per pack), all of which was still less than the price of a 100 pack of X-Acto No.11 blades.

Just got mine delivered thru amazon and I have quite an apprehension before, but after trying it for a couple of hours, i was surprised that i was not as tired as I usually am compared to holding regular x-acto. Very light and the 30 degree angle was a plus.

Do not know why the 30 degree angle makes a difference, but it does. This is pretty much the type knife I us all the time for cutting parts from sheets.:DRick

Hello all, just thought I would throw my hat into this discussion, even if it is a bit late!:o I use the Squadron scalpel handle and blades. I usd to us x-acto but over time became unhappy with the blade performance. Every so often, if I have too cut alot of parts, I'll put one of the scalpel blades into an x-acto handle. I do find I get less hand fatigue with the round barrel as opposed to the flat scalpel handle.

I use almost exclusively Olfa AK-3 - but I sharpen the blades using very fine sandpaper, and grind broken tips sharp with my dremel tool. Effectively, when I buy blades, I buy them together with the knife - in my way the 10-pack of blades outlives the knife :P

Almost an exact copy of the Tajima, except the prices are triple what I paid for the knife and replacement blades:

Tajima snap off blade razor box cutter utility knife 30 - eBay
Tajima 30 ° snap off utility cutter knife blades 10 pc - eBay

I use three types of cutter, as well as for the circles: "Olfa".
But I prefer, overall, that indicated by the red arrow.
It's a 'Tecnostyl Design GR 100'. Blade very short (not oscillating) and thin, rugged and lightweight handle.
