Craft Knife Survey

The poll has one specific question, but I'm curious about the features -positive and negative- of everyone's craft knives, be they X-Acto, Fiskars, Swann & Morton or cheap Chinese knock-offs from the dollar store.

So tell me what you use, what you like about it, what you don't and what you might change if you could.

And yes, this is a little bit of market research.

I use this Fiskar's knife. It does not roll, is top tightened and accepts #11 scapel blades without modification.

I have this knife and I was VERY unimpressed with it's performance. I bought some high quality blades for a large box cutter and I use it with as much accuracy.

I used to use the traditional X-Acto style handle but it was an Excel brand. I recently got the grippy blue X-Acto handle that tightens at the end, but I still prefer Excel blades.

Big fan of the Fiskars knife shown in Douglas' photo.

During long cutting sessions it is very comfortable... doesn't leave that painful half cylinder of raw meat in my fingertip.

I use a Stanley handle with #11 blades. I've attached a rubber triangle end to it after it rolled off the workbench, and I managed to trap it between my knees, which was an experience, I prefer not to repeat.

I am a fan of the X-acto 2000 knife

I have the Fiskars one also, but I always come back to the X-acto one

Hello to you all;

yours are to heavy for me ... I use for small and curved parts the NT Cutter D 1000 - the blade width aprox. 3 mm and the angle 30°; and for long cuts the Swann Morton Surgical knife with No. 11 blades ... in combination with a ruler.

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried
PS: the NT cutter ...

I suppose I should post too

I usually use X2000 X-Acto because I like the heft and size of it, but I've worn out the rubber on the barrel of several so far
