Travel Toolbox: My Workshop in a Cigar Box
I'm preparing for holiday travel. I've packed a fairly complete toolkit into a small cigar box, and I'm bringing two N-scale models to work on. Here's my blog post about it:
Miniature Architecture Blog: My Workshop in a Cigar Box I've already sent a SASE to my destination with my #11 blades for model building and my double-edged razors for shaving. I'm curious to see if anyone else has tips and pointers for travel tools. |

Very nice. I never get tired of seeing other people's work spaces and tools. Travel kits are always interesting, and I always get new ideas.
Thanks for sharing this. Don |

Dear RideTheory:
Very nice Being a non smoker I will have to go out of my normal routines to go look for a smaller cigar box at the Indian reservation I cut up an old mat to fit a Insulin kit box. If you pack the blades in the checked baggage it should not be a problem or have the rules changed? I will photo my travel box. Nice kit, Miles |

I have seen cigar boxes and similar plastic boxes for sale in school supplies.

No, the rules are the same -- blades in checked luggage are okay. However, the wife and I travel light and we don't like to spend time checking luggage.

That's a very nice travel kit you have put together. I especially like the mini water colour tin.

For short assignments away from home, I have a similar small box. For longer trips, I use a small tackle box.
