Lightbulb Help needed with wing tips

Hi folks,

I´ll try to depict my problem.
After the assembly of the fuselage went quite well at my Mig-3 and the LA-11 I´va got a problem in assembling the wings.
There are two different kinds of construction here.
1) The wings of the Mig-3 is of one piece in the end, so that you assemble it round the frame contruction and glue the upper and lower half together.....but I think I can´t glue them "flat" together, right?
2) The wings of the LA-11 have got separated tips, which consist of two parts you have to glue together and assemble it with connection stripes at the main wing.
Here also is the danger of gluing them flat together.
Question: How do I manage to round the edges/tips of the wing well and how should I manage to assemble it?
Because of the connection stripes there could arise ugly clefts.
And how do I manage in both cases to get a well rounded profile?

Sorry, I hope you understand what I mean.:o

I´d like to get some advice from you.
Thanks in advance

Stephan

Oh, that looks good, by the way, the Albatros you are building is a real beauty.
What kind of tool is that, you show in the second picture?
And on what kind of underlay do you do that work...kind of soft, like these special foam for flowers...not as soft as a sponge, little harder.

Greetings

Stephan

It's a Spoon Tip Burnisher from Excel (31603)
The underlay is a white vinyl drafting eraser

I use the back of my exacto knife (the old-style metal kind) and a combination of my hand and a mouse pad. Same concept as shrike, just different tools.

cover the back of the wingtips with a thin layer of pva (white) glue and let it dry before curving the piece... the layer of glue will form a thin flexible layer that protect the paper more from developing small wrinkles.

it also works very well on leading edges of small scale wings.

on some models with a lot of curvey or small parts i cover all these parts at once on the back of the sheet and let it dry before cutting out.
