SIRIUS - JSC - Help/advice needed

Hello all,

I have to cut these parts for the rafts out. Is there an easy way to do it or an 'easier' method than others.

Best I can think of myself is use a 30 degree blade and one-by-one cut out.

This makes 340 X 180 degree cuts PLUS 136 180 degree cuts for the internal part part of #211.

476 X 180 degree cuts! Someone somewhere knows a clever / less laborious method - would be delighted of you would share your expertise!

Regards,
Alan

For the internal cuts on parts 211 I suggest you use either a screw punch or a hollow drill depending on the size of the hole needed for the round ends. Using a circle template will help prevent the drill or punch from wandering.

As for the external cuts I suggest you cut the rectangle then trim the outside curves. After gluing the parts together some light sanding on the outside curves might be needed.

Sorta like making tank tracks, a lot of parts.

Good luck

If you are stacking the rafts up on each other you will only need to cut out the centers for the very top ones as that's all you will see.

A leather punch is an indispensable tool that will provide you with 6 different small hole sizes.

Another way to solve this problem is to disassemble a telescopic radio antenna which includes about 4-6-8 brass tubes. You should just slightly sharpen them. Plus you can use suitable radial chisels for outside edges.

Always cut out the Centers first, then cut to the outside perimeter.
