First your railings look great.

The ship modelers in my IPMS club build 1/700 scale models with etched brass railings. first they bend the railings so that they hold their shape without support. they use a clear glue that is cured with a UV light. The brand is Bondic and its available on Amazon, hardware stores and Walmart.

the glue is a thick clear liquid and hardens when you shine the UV flash light that they supply on the glue. it sets up instantly. A very small amount of the glue is required to get a strong bond. The down side is the cost it's about $15 but it does have a long storage life as long as you keep it in a closed box.

Hi Jim,
Thanks, my first foray into detailing, happy with the result. I found a combination of the above methods worked well for me.

That's a really great tip about the Bondic, I'll get some and try it out, sounds very useful.

Thanks for the tip Jim!

Regards,
Alan
