Nah...I heat gun while I spray, so if its gonna flash, it'll do so early on!
I agree Mike, having painted with Lacquers and Automotive products for 25 years I'm extremely aware of the fire risk of some of these paints. As I said, I spray such minimal amounts of these spraycanclearcoats (for model sheets). And, as I said, Krylon and other manufacturers make 'low-odour indoor use' 'spray clears. Many of them (like Krylon) are water cleanup. And the amount of paint in a spray can is extremely small (maybe an ounce?), and its volatile only under pressure. Of course, you should spray in a well ventilated area, and as Mike says, do not spray heavy enough amounts and allow a significant amount of atomized paint to accumulate in an enclosed area. I'd even wear a Respirator if you have one. But the amount I spray on a model sheet, at one time, is deliberately so small. I doubt it could be ignited by a welding torch!

Having said all that (above), I still agree with Mike...there are dangers lurking everywhere from chemicals, paints and other things we use in our homes.
I remember, as an Auto mechanic that I never believed dirty shop rags in the 'dirty rag bin' could spontaneously burst into flames...until I saw it happen. Various chemicals on those dirty rags coming in contact with each other, chemicals that just fermented and generated their own heat, and risky flammable things on rags, all do weird things when trapped in a small place. I'm no scientist, I don't understand how it happens. lol But an invisible cloud of paint fumes, heavier than air, collecting in an unventilated area, could be an invitation for disaster. Even a small fan, on low speed, can help dissipate some of the paint fumes. A bigger exhaust fan, or cross-ventilation is a better option. if you plan on spraying a lot more than I do, then you seriously need to think about a better option. Have you thought about building your own spray booth? Hobbyists and plastic modelers build them all the time. Check youtube for some ideas.

Has anyone experienced any adhesion issues with Krylon? Should I spray just the “skin” parts or is it okay if I just spray the entire parts sheet?
