If it works I can upload one to the download section or you can move this one as needed. Assuming you wanted a square base,6,8 sided are possible as well

Just tested the prototype: 16.9fl oz water bottle depressed it a little, not much... (Index 110#)

I like that a lot.

Ray, is 1/2 inch the height that you are going for? I decided I would still do an IKube-style blank base for myself, but I did it at 3/4 inch height

Pentagon Shape?

Care for a Pentagon Shaped Base?
Pentagon.pdf

Here is one with photo top:
Pentagon-Photo.pdf

Here is one photo top and partial sides:
Pentagon-Photo2.pdf

Here is one with full sides:
Pentagon-Photo3.pdf

Used the same side for all 5-could not find suitable photo for each side.

Each edge is 4" long x 1/2" High. I gray scaled the dash lines so they are harder to see once the base is complete. Do these work okay or should I make them darker/lighter?

Pentagon shape for military models?

Mike

The Toposolitario IKube-based base concept works, though I should have used thicker cardstock.

Hexagon / Octagon Bases

Couple more designs.

Hexagon and Octagon Bases
2023 Hexagon 3inch.pdf

2023 Octogon 2.5inch.pdf

The length of each PDF name is for the leg length. Actually they are at or over 6" wide.

Mike and Dave - These are very useful bases. Many thanks.

Ray - I have been using and adapting a design that Don Weeks invented. Images below. I suspect that if you contacted him, he would be inclined to share the design.

Those look like they could easily be converted to a fold-flat version. Hmmm

Yes. I had meant to mention that although my bases are all permanently glued, thre is no reason why the design could not easily be adapted to the kind of fold-flat tabbed construction that Ray was looking for.
