Flexible glue

Hello all,
I started building the Ton's Voyager model, I am at the beginning, but proceeding, I will post some pictures as soon as I can.

In the instructions, he suggests to use some "flexible glue" to baste the gluing of parts that must be permanently placed in different position. The flexibility is required, because the gluing must works as a hinge; you can see this almost at the beginning, to block the propeller tank centered among the four axes in the main body.

I tried Loctite Super Attak Power Gel, as its description enumerates the characteristics I need. Since it's the very first time I use it, I did a test with two piece of corrugated cardboard: the junction is not so flexible, when I rotated one piece around the junction, the glued area resists, and in the end it rips.
I also tried to put some more glue to get a flexible drop, but the result it was quite the same.

Which glue can I use? Or which method is the best?
Thank you for any hint.

I'm wondering if an acrylic caulk would work. Or perhaps glue a small piece of cloth to the part to act as the hinge.

"Flexible glue" is kind of a contradiction in terms. This sounds like a good application for a needle and thread. Could be a bit tricky, though, so I would practice on some scrap paper. And I always poke holes through the paper first, before trying to sew pieces together and usually reinforce the holes with cellophane tape or small pieces of paper first. Paper or plastic reinforcements (like for paper for ring binders) would work, too.
