Turnbuckles For Rigging

The wire and strut airplane types might find this useful:

Bob's Buckles

Might give your model that extra touch:

OR, failing that, you could just make your own:

Rigging Scale Aircraft

Wow. I've usually just used a small drop of epoxy to simulate the turnbuckles (or ignored them entirely).

That's exactly where I got the idea for the 'buckles on my Albatros. Bob's are much more refined tho I'll try them out again on the Fokker I have going when I get to that point.

Thanks for pointing those links out Mike

I just gave Bob a large chunk o' change for some 1:32 turnbuckles both for my Wingnut Wings pl***ic collection and my 1:33/1:32 paper WW1 birds. Thanks for the link, Mike; I had it at one time and had lost it in "The Great Dell Fiasco of 2010" which resulted in the acquisition of my iMac.

I am ashamed to say I had the same thought...Did Bob complete the penetration? Will Ron's rigging go unfastened? Tune in tomorrow on "As the Buckle Turns..."

Reminds me of an old Groucho joke. After a bellhop carries all of Groucho's luggage up to his hotel room, Groucho reaches into his pocket and holds up a fiver. "You see this?" he ask the bellhop.

"Oh yes sir!" responds the bellhop.

"Well, come by later and I'll let have another look" and quickly shoves the bill back into his pocket.

Guys...dig a little deeper in the jewelry wire section and you will find sections of "crimp " tubing designed to hold a loop at the end of jewelry wire a loop at the other end will make a turn buckle.. Bill amos
