Paint nad paper/cardstock
I would like to use my acrylic paint on paper, cardstock and poster board without destroying the paper via curling/warping etc. I know I can't use injet and acrylic.
I am also curious as to what sprays work on ink jet and paper. There was a thread on this but it seems to be 2 years old and new stuff has come out. Thanks. |

You can paint cardstock without warping if you seal it first. I'm using Krylon Low Odor Clear Finish. But, they make a number of other suitable products . . .

There's a thread discussing spray-sealing models - both products and techniques here: Spray sealing finished models

The thread I linked above is one I started about 8 months ago in an ongoing effort to learn the products and techniques that work for spray-sealing card models printed on inkjet printers. I updated it last night with the my results from testing two products I picked up recently - one a few months ago - Krylon UV Resistant Clear in matte finish, and one a few weeks ago, Kyrlon Preserve It! in gloss finish.
It's an active thread so feel free to post comments concerns and questions there. Not required, but it's nice to keep the discussion in one location for later reference. Maybe this thread can be used to discuss the branch topic of painting models once they've been spray sealed.

I believe I am in error, as the dates I saw were older: almost a year. I have read the discussions (mostly) and so far I seem to see that sealing the paper with krylon first, before printing, is necessary

After printing - not before. Although you may be able to print over the Preserve-it or Workable Fixative I doubt the other products would hold the ink.

You can use Nitrate Dope on a printed models. You simply brush it on. It will not smudge the print. It will protect the print and the paper. You can use any paint on the top of it.
You can find more information on that subject in my threads. PZL P.11c 1:33 Kartonowy Arsenał. AH Publishing Treating the edges |
