cfuruti,
Thanks, I was drawing a blank on how to get "paper dust." I am doing Christine C's Star trek Voyager and this will come in handy. |

If the SO is not watching you can powder paper by putting paper scraps in an electric coffee grinder.

I think this has already been posted on this forum, a repoosting does not hurt much other than using up a few electrons and a little disk space.
Celluclay mixed with a little water and a couple of squirts of water soluble glue makes a good paper paste and putty, if you would rather buy pre made paper powder, rather than grind your own. You can also make paper modeling paste by running shredded news paper or junk mail and a little water through a kitchen blender. Adding glue, or rice flour in warm water will make it sticky and more durable when it dries. If you are not the "kitchen boss", consider getting a flea market or thrift shop blender of your own. And remember to hold the blender lid down to prevent a paper mache geyser. |

My grandfather did the same thing. That is where I got the idea for such.
I figured that if this could be done with wood dust (saw dust) than the same could be done with paper dust.

glue and strength /filler
I dont know if this will be of any use to anyone, (or if someone has already said) but, has anyone tried the superfast SUPER glue and bicarbonate of soda method of filling a gap with HUGE strength? just experiment with it. a very short working time , it hardens rapidly, it can be sanded and is easily as hard as bone, have used it to form a new guitar bridge so SUPER tough and very smooth. use a metal fingernail file for smooth as silk finish.
WARNING dont let it touch your skin. and DO experiment first .. that is essential.. you will see why. FAST. |
