Can I edit pdf files?

Hi, If i want to make a bigger papercraft, like, doing every part of the papercraft in one paper, how I do that? Can I edit some pdf files?

Another thing, I want to edit the pdf to move some parts of the papercraft, cause when I print, some little parts are missing in bottom, If I move a little that part, I can avoid that.

Short answer - maybe
Long answer - if the file is not password or otherwise secured you can do a variety of things with it including editing it. If it contains bitmaps you can work on it in a graphic program. If it contains vector graphics you can obviously edit it with a vector editing program. To do this, if the file is not secured, you need a program that allows you to select objects in the pdf file and paste them into the applicable graphics program.

I believe there is a pdf plugin for Open Office
OpenOffice.org - The Free and Open Productivity Suite
Ghostview and Ghostscript might be helpful
Ghostscript, Ghostview and GSview
Have you tried the "print multiple pages per sheet" option in Foxit pdf reader?

This sounds like the best option for what you are trying to do.

All of these programs are either free, GNU licensed or open source.

Worst case scenario you can screen capture the pages piece by piece and then re-assemble them in your favorite graphic program.

You can edit pdf files containing vector graphics easily with Inkscape (free software). It opens (unencrypted) pdf files directly; however you must open each page separately (will be changed in future versions, iirc).

You can open pdf files on Photoshop. I use CS and it works fine. I even replaced some parts with high resolution pics of my own once.

I use Gimp too. Be sure about license of your original pdf before sharing your modifications.

The problem I run into with all of these programs as well as the 3-D and unfolding programs is time. I know nothing about them so I must learn them, taking valuable time away from model making and that other thing I do...what was it...oh yah, family time! Between the kids (5), the yard (big), the house (always needing cleaned), laundry (for 7 plus sometime daughters BF) and cooking I get run wild.

Combine this time crunch with the fact that I do not speak computer, so I do not understand the tutorials well, I am screwed. I have all of these great programs but I think, for now at least, I will have to just stick to building what others provide.

You could always print them, then scan and scale them up like that.

Free downloads at www.inkscape.org and www.gimp.org. I've used Inkscape and it works a lot like Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator. I haven't tried Gimp yet but I've heard good things about it.
