Hah, nice. Apparently your signature quote is incorrect, rock is not dead.

Wow, that is amazing. I'd love to have a Strat made out of anything, even if I can't play worth a *.

Dave Lee's connection with the cardboard people started with Signal Snowboards
and their Every Third Thursday video series.
(I've seen them all!)

In that series, they make interesting and unique skateboards, surfboards and snowboards
from interesting and unique items ...such as Cardboard.
But Cardboard isn't always the only item used and the boards are always coated and sealed in acrylic resin.

What is not revealed in this Fender Guitar project is the fact
that the cardboard body and neck of the guitar are solid plastic
since they have been soaked and suspended in resin.
Sure, it looks like a cardboard...still very cool...
but structurally its no different than acrylic guitar bodies which have been around for a very long time.

I just wish they had admitted that fact, rather than making it seem like
this is a totally "cardboard" guitar.

Only an acrylic body and neck would have the strength and rigidity in the neck to body connection.
Its also not revealed if there is a tensioning rod in the neck.

Canon put up a paper Fender years ago ...

Electric guitar 02 - Musical instruments - Decorative - Paper Craft - Canon Creative Park

I got half way through one before my fingers got wrecked. One day I'll finish it.

I've got a couple from the paper guitar site, but want one plugged into an old style Fender Twin-Reverb amp so I can annoy the neighbors.
