Very nice build. I to have a ton of light house models. I have built only four of them, two of which I designed myself.
The link you posted is no more, it says, "Blog has been removed." |

My guess is an oil fired light source.
Some of these types of lighthouses survived until more recently in more far flung areas of the world. Only a few though as oil fired lighthouses were very dangerous.......!

Thank you, Mainecoon for resurrecting this thread, and those who have added to the discussion with new ideas and thoughts. It would look good with some kind of a large sea serpent wrapping around it, SA-9. Inky, you are correct, Toto's site has been taken down. A real loss for all of us. Luckily I still have a cleaned version of the original file, so I'll submit it for download later today- this is a very old model, which I'm sure won't run afoul of any copyright laws. Look for it in the architecture section.

Gunnar Sillen on his website bildrum.se shows this model with some details. He also has some information regarding coal-fired lighthouses, but they would normally have some sort of chimney to assist the draft, rather than just a hole in the roof. This probably only muddies the water, but it is interesting, I think.
