Dornier DO-X is to be resurrected on a 1: 1 scale
While reading our newspaper, I stumbled upon an article that reported about the Friends and Sponsors Do X e.V. Friedrichshafen. You have set yourself the goal of "resurrecting" the DO-X as a replica on a scale of 1: 1! Here is the club's website: Freundes- und Forderkreis Do X e.V. The Duale Hochschule (Cooperative State University) in Ravensburg has already created a CAD model: https://www.ravensburg.dhbw.de…die-d...-die-gegenwart I'm curious to see if that will work (with a span of almost 50 meters) ... |

Hi All,
And thanks to everyone for your interest and comments concerning this vintage paper model airplane. Hi wireandpaper. I agree with you that my DO-X looks “Chibi.” I had to look that up, and a word that describes cute/chunky fits the model well. Attached find a couple of shots of the 1/120 paper model next to my old 1/144 plastic model. It’s interesting the way the paper model designer compressed his version while retaining the soul of the DO-X. And Moritzamica, thanks for two more interesting DO-X sites. The Friends and Sponsors DO-X site is not only worth seeing for the information it contains, but for its web design as well. Score and fold, Thumb Dog |
