Whaling diorama from ABC

Wonderfull action diorama by the famous Czech magasine ABC. Found it here sometime ago and now gave it a go. Superb and lively artwork which I didn't want to destroy so I made a copy on my preferred paper.

Looking at what I ended up with I might give this another try and try to end up with a tunnel book kind of outcome. For that the model needs some tweaking though mostly re-sizing the elements a bit. Let's see.

This creation in the pictures is fine when held in hands but pretty impossible to take photos of. I guess no matter you do it's the same with these kind of dioramas.

Anyways I hope this pleases your eyes and imagination.

What a beauty. You certainly know how to choose them.

I’d look forward to seeing it as a tunnel book. Dioramas like this always seem like they want to be enclosed in some way. Then the tricky part is lighting them. At any rate, this is a lovely little diorama, albeit rather catastrophic for the whalers.

Thanks Don and Anne. ABC suggested this dio to be built in a box and quite shallow one too. Testing the positioning the elements I liked more a bit deeper perspective and that gave me the idea of a tunnel book. I can easily use these parts in creating the 'tunnel vision' I just need to get some cardstock first. Light is a small issue, maybe leave the top open. But private viewing gives still the best thrills. No wonder people gave tunnel books the name 'peep shows'. (all puns intended)

I'll be back on this model with version 2.0.
