Hello from Tennessee

I have been a plastic modeler for over 40 yrs. (I'm 52) and I have only now dicovered paper! I love it.
I have Parkinson's and it has become very difficult to paint and assemble the models I've been so proud of for so many years. It was quite depressing. So anyway...I was doing research to resurrect an original Monogram 1:96 Apollo, when I stumbled across Greelt Peterusma's 1:48 scale F1 engine. I thought I would like to try that; and while I worked on making that I noticed that I was calmer, not jerky, or shaky. WOW!
not only is this fun ..... it is therapy for me! Now I can keep modeling for many more years (I hope).:D Meet new friends too.(I hope). and maybe someday share some of my work. ( In this hobby there is even a learning curve for learning curves I have discovered. ) so thank everyone that makes this possiable. (I need a spell cheker ya'know?)

Welcome to the forum, Rocky. We're always happy to see new modelers join this growing hobby. It's fun, rewarding, and if you find it therapeutic, all the better. We're looking forward to seeing photos of your work. Do you have a particular card modeling area of interest?

Welcome, Rocky! Glad you found us. It's still modelling - but you have better control while making & shaping the parts, not just assembling them. The incredible graphics, wide selection, and low cost are just incidental ...

Welcome to the forum mr Balboa,
We have to warn you, papermodeling can be very addictive, and there is no therapy as far as we know...:D

Thank you for the welcome. You are right. Details found in paper graphics would never make it in to plastic.

Werner von Braun had the same problem, his solution is rather drastic, in your case I should ask permission from the misses :D
