Shipyard paper models

First Hello

Although I have been building and collecting paper models for many years I just joined so want to greet everybody first.

Secondly I just purchased my first SHIPYARD paper model kit and have yet to receive it so was wondering if any of you of have had experience with this company's models in general and the HMS Victory in specific, this being the one I purchased.

I know I put card before horse and should have asked this question first but alas I did it backwards - so lets see how well I did or did not do.

Would welcome any comments and happy modeling to you.

Victory

Here are some links in German. I don't find again the great thread about on kartonist.de or kartonbau.de - Kartonmodellbau, Kartonmodelle, Cardmodels, Cardmodeling Christoph did, probably short before he set up kartonist.de it seems to me

Kartonist.de | Abgeschlossene Bauberichte - Schifffahrt | HMS VIKTORY /Shipyard / Maßstab 1:96

Kartonist.de | Abgebrochene/ stillgelegte Bauberichte | H.M.S. Victory, Shipyard, 1:96

and a recent release, Papegojan
Kartonist.de | Bauberichte / GS - 2013 | GS - 2013 / Papegojan 1/96 Shipyard Nr.34

Welcome aboard! No experience with that company, but I hope you receive it soon (and let us know how the build goes).

I think the most important thing to George is that your not in a race and can do other builds at the same time what i see some do and I did myself is i download free kits that have some of the same sort of details i be using in a build to get used to the same methods. As someone said he had made a thousand wheels just getting the feel for how to build some on a model he wanted to look good so if it means doing lots of small builds to get used to something to make that beauty and it works then it be an idea

a most impressive project indeed. I don't recommend visiting Doris' thread or you will probably just send yours back before it is even opened. Her skills are unreal and by no means representative of us mere mortals. But if you do succumb to curiosity just remember----I told you!
