Permission To Come Aboard?
Hey Modelers!
I just signed up to join the group. I am a model builder primarily of plastic aircraft kits and have even competed in some IPMS events with some success. I also do volunteer modeling for the Combat Air Museum in Topeka, Kansas. Some of those projects have involved the use of other mediums and some scratch building as well. I have never done any paper modeling but we need a large scale model of an aircraft that is not available in plastic but I found a pattern for one in paper and thought "what the heck". I enjoy a challenge and I hope to be able to learn a lot from you pro's! I look forward to reading a lot of tips and articles from this site. tdndude |

Welcome. I feel a bit out of touch. I've never been to the Combat Air Museum.
I'm sure you will pick up a lot here. Take a good look around, ask questions and have fun.

Welcome! I've heard good things about the Combat Air Museum. It's on my list of places to hit in Kansas, along with the Cosmosphere and some of the classic aviation haunts in Wichita.

Welcome. Didn't make the Air Combat Museum last year. Was in Wichita, but had to head back west to return to work. Maybe this year since there are several others things in your area I want to check out.
Anyway as primarily a plastic car modeler, will say there's lots of things to learn and do here. Barely touched plastic in the last couple of years. |

Welcome aboard! You should find paper a great material for building - especially for the museum. Big advantage is the availability (free downloads and/or low cost) of a wide range of models you can build or that the folks going through the museum can build (especially if you include source links when you build a display).
