good afternoon

from the N east of England

Mostly a railway buff. I do , however have an appreciation of most things mechanical.Love ships -sailing and steam , aircraft - preferably biplanes with character- and what I term 'bits falling off' Some fifties aircraft I like- the gannet- stuff like that- .On here to scout for buildings for the railway in the loft ( Brtisitsh outline - roughly N east, but- again- I run what I like so not area specific). If any body has the top of a mine shaft with wheel?? for one corner. and a ruined castle for the other would be nice. cheers

Welcome to the site.
Check out the Links tab at the upper right. There are links to sites with models of buildings that can be used for a railway layout. You can usually rescale the files to fit.

This site has some scenery files that can be scaled:
All-Gauge Model Railroading Page

About 3/4 of the way down the page.

welcome to the forum. You probably know about www.scalescenes.com. They have lots of good stuff for the model railroader. Some of the stuff the wargamers have come up with might give you the castle you want. You might also be interested in some of the engines and rolling stock...not always usable in the active portion of your layout, but always good for use as scenery (and lots cheaper than kits in other media.

Long list, but check out Ninjatoes' Link list for buildings, Ninjatoes' papercraft weblog: Paper model links

Also check out Mauther's blog, Papermau. On the right you can pull up posts by topic, like buildings, architecture, railway, etc., or by scale.

What scale railroad are you working on?
