'nother Newbie
Good Day:
I'm from the Wet Coast of Canada.. Vancouver. Joined this forum because I wanted to build my usual RC models from Depron 3 or 6mm thick foam sheet material (as appropriate) with a glue sticked on Paper Model skin. Paper models, enlarged to suit 1:24 to 1:12th scale typically, seemed as Perfect choices. I've been building 'toy' airplanes since 1960 .. so I'm unlikely to change habits of a lifetime. However I'm more than willing to take advantage of what seems as a Very clever way of building scale models. The fine details / paint works on the Paper Models that I have seen, is simply outstanding.. without putting too fine a point on it. Far Better... than I can realistically achieve, using my old school methods. Hopefully this doesn't offend any sensibilities ? These are Still paper models... just at 3x size and intended to fly .. however briefly. |

Welcome to PM Danilo. While you do have a few years on me, I've been building since the late 60s. Mostly RC ship models but cardmodels have taken my heart in the last year here. I'm sure you'll enjoy this site full of talented and friendly people. I wish I could recall how many times I've sat here with my mouth hanging open thinking "Is that really paper".
For the last few weeks, I've been working on building a 14 inch span Sopwith and stuffing it with an AR6400. |

Welcome to PM.
I doubt that you have any years on me because I was building stick and tissue models in the early 1950's. Building paper models in foam and using them for RC seems to be quite popular. |

Welcome! Sensibilities certainly not offended - sounds like an interesting approach especially if you are going to print on the Depron/foam. Many (conventional?) paper models require a fair amount of internal structure, and printing directly on other materials would be useful.
