Hi Stephanie, welcome to the forum! I think it's awesome to have someone almost my same age (16-17) on here. Like the others said above take your time on your first model (a Canon right?) and if you make a mistake that's okay, trust me even the experienced modelers on here make them It's already been said above all I was going to say but I just want to welcome you to the forum, have fun and I'm just now starting to get back on here (I had school projects). I'm on every day for hours so if you need tips and suggestions please feel free to private message me!
Nice meeting you Stephanie, I hope we can get to know each other more! (Also, in case you were wondering on all my posts I always have them in different colors, I don't even know why it just something unique I do!) -RunwayOneSixRight (Matthew) |

Any of those one-pager models will take an evening at most. Do both and more.

I agree with Vermin, also going on from what the mighty Peter Taft said this is the greatest place on the web. Well, besides Fiddlersgreen.net, Paper-replika.com, Stahlhart, and any other paper model website oh and DUH Canon!

Another welcome, Stephanie, this time from Texas. The Canon website probably has the most extensive set of animal models -- more than 100, I think. Once you cut your teeth on a few one-pagers, move up to something like the St. Bernard or the elephant. The toy poodle and the whale may be the most difficult of the Canon animals, but the bald eagle and Pegasus are pretty sophisticated, too. And don't forget the teddy bears. Most importantly, have fun!

Welcome to the forum
Hi Stephanie,
Welcome to the best source of paper modeling,,, and folks that love it on the planet. You will find all the help and encouragement that a person will ever need here. The Canon critters are a joy to build, and will get you into the hobby with a fun fascination of how things are designed to bring crafting joy to an individual. Have fun, and post your builds for the rest of us to enjoy. The one thing that has not been mentioned in your tool box is,,, I use lots of q-tips for wiping up excess glue. The aileens tackey glue is all I have ever used for building. But you will find what is best for you. Best Regards, Gary |
