Hello from Perth Australia

Hi,

My interest in card model ships started around about a year and half ago when I came across martanek41 stunning work in his Fuso and then his multi-build elsewhere.

Up to that point I wasn't aware of these types of models and after seeing what was possible I had to have a go. So just over a year ago I ordered the GPM Bismarck and photo-etch extras from GPMs Polish site.

The build hasn't progressed much as currently building a wood HMB Endeavour and didn't have the room for a 1.2 metre Bismarck on the go at the same time.

Recently my card interest has picked up again and after searching the web for a dedicated card site, what do you know? I came across martanek41's builds again

Anyway thats about it, I plan on just lurking for a bit and exploring this excellent and informative site until I get another card ship in a few months time. (the Bismarck is probably going to go into ordinary indefinitely at this stage) Later in the year I should have the space to work on multiple builds.

Cheers

Hi,

Thank you all for the welcome.

I am aware of Doris's outstanding ships on another forum and can only marvel at the quality of work she does.

I came across the Sydney on GPMs site and it would make an interesting ship. I am currently looking at the Pre-Dreadnought and Dreadnought types of ships as I find their configuration very interesting.

At the moment the GPM SMS Schleswig-Holstein is the most likely candidate so hopefully around March I will order it from GPM with bits and pieces of photo-etch.

Cheers
