Greetings from Baykiddead
Hello all. Nice to meet you. I'm a paper toy fiend always scouring these nets looking for models to add to my collection. Mostly I'm interested in the "designer/street" toy culture. The models I enjoy most come from the likes of Shin Tanaka, Tougui, Horrorwood, Harlancore, Dolly Oblong, etc…
I'm really not that into scaled models of planes, ships, or the like, but that's not to say I don't fully appreciate the time, dedication, passion, creativity, and love for these models. It's just that I like the weird and odd and feel my shelves are more suited for those kinds of toys. I am also a designer. There's nothing quite like creating a toy and then seeing it built in someone's collection. I'm currently working on a new figure that's a part of an ongoing series of mine. Hopefully it'll spawn into something more than folded paper. The world of paper craft and toys can be so amazing and the community that keeps it thriving is equally so. I'm glad to have found this board, and hope to contribute to it. With some many of the same types of models being shared here, hopefully I can add something new. I am a regular over at Nice Paper Toys and have some pictures of my collection there. I'd wager that 90% of my collection came from free downloads, and as such, if anyone sees anything they want, drop a line and I'll accommodate if I can. The pic is from this year's RAGBRAI. Another love of mine... |

Welcome to the site.
Bicycles. Nice hobby/sport/exercise. I find that the paper models based on animated shows are well received. SpongeBob SquarePants related models at the top of the list.

Welcome! We've got space for just about anything - plenty of "non-scale" papercraft in the other builds section. Up for just about anything you can make that uses organic, self-replicating carbon composite construction.

I think I may have met Matt Hawkins at a Pitch event once. Nice Paper Toys is a great community. Welcome to our forum. Do you ever get down to KC?

As a matter of fact, I'll be there in 2 weeks to see Trey Anastasio at the Uptown on the 31st, will be hitting a few galleries to see about possible exhibitions.
KCMO is a great town! It's what made me first realize how great the midwest is. |
