New from Michigan

Greetings! Thought to introduce myself, My hobby background has been balsa stick and tissue freeflight rubber powered airplanes, I still very much enjoy these!
My intro to paper models was a couple Free paper model downloads of model rockets that flew and I was impressed at what can be done in paper.
I had not done any modeling in paper for a few years until recently I discovered the Astromedia kits of small working paper engines and I have been Very much enjoying these kits. I have found a couple more out of print books that are cardstock paper steam engine kits as well, and I hope to give those a try soon.
I do not currently have the equipment to print my own kits and am having increasing trouble getting my local print shop to print kits for me as they seem Very concerned about possible copyright issues.
I joined the forum to learn about glues that will not warp my models and (tips and tricks) plus hopefully find more mechanical model kits to build. Stationary Steam engines and flying models are a favorite of mine.
I believe there is a very attractive Spanish steam engine download on the forum but my phone will not open the file. I thought to join and perhaps I can go to the library and open the file there.
Cheers from Michigan!

Fiddlers Green has Boaz steam engine that works (you blow into it and it moves). Unfortunately you would have to print it but it is available at their site.

Welcome to the madness

Greetings from another fellow Michigander!

Balsa stick and tissue or even foam free-flight powered by various sources (Co2 has always intrigued me) is one of those interests I'd love to try sometime but work, life, projects, and other current hobbies have kept me busy. Ah, maybe someday when I retire.

Many thanks for the warm welcome, and the heads up on the Boaz model.
A neat trick I learned from my toy steam hobby is most paper models that can be powered by blowing in a straw or inflating a balloon can be also powered by a fish aquarium pump. The advantage is continuous running and also the moisture from your breath is not great for the paper model if done a lot in one session.

I will try to post a photo of The paper model steam engine I found on this forum that is now on my most wanted list. I am getting help on how to download it, and learning my phone is not the correct way.
