Hello there
I'm a relatively experienced plastic modeler expanding my horizons into wood (just finished the hull on my first wood kit) and paper. I build mostly naval at 1/700 and smaller, also like 1/72 midcentury aircraft, and similar scales for WWI aircraft and a few WWII aircraft. Mostly I build smaller the better--working on a 1:1420 scratch build Victory cargo ship off and on for close to 18 mos now as well.
I wanted to build a protected cruiser and really liked Orel's 1/200 kit for the Brooklyn. I got the wood deck and PE sets for it as well. I don't know when I'll be starting it, but came here to do some looking and research. Needed to register to look at the photos, haha! I'll probably be lurking for a while, but will try to contribute when I get the build started. |

Welcome to the best modeling forum. Sometimes it's a "meller-drammer"; sometimes like an elective course in school; but always interesting!

Welcome. I think that since you say you like building small, you will discover that paper can help you with detail at small scale. Take a good look around and I think you will be surprised at how many of the items you expressed interest in can be found in Paper
