the forum is broken down to different threads based on subject.
I usually open: Paper Modelers
and check the Recent thread list where I check subjects that are of interest to me and any new action on those.

There is also the Download tab on the top right where you can find hundreds of different models, all for free, classified under their subject (ex: Aviation, Anime, Architecture, etc)
If you are interested in Aviation, the thread:

One model per (non-working) day has hundreds of free models from all eras in 1/300 scale.
