Hello from hot and sunny Lancashire

Hi, I'm Lizzie in what is usually the wet and windy northwest of England ...
I do all sorts of crafts and recently I've been enjoying making paper cement, fabric cement and 'natural' fairy houses. But what to do come winter when the weather confines me indoors for much of the time?
I started investigating paper and cardboard models - and so here I am!

Greetings from pizza-oven Hampshire (actually it's cooled down to a normal evening now). Paper cement is a new concept to me, but it sounds as if it could be a possible useful material in some projects.

Welcome to the forum. I also started out in other media, but now I'm sticking to paper. (your right; it's a bad joke)

Paper and fabric concretes are really useful for projects that will be exposed to the weather; you can be very creative and the finished items are usefully lighterweight than conventional concrete - but it's very messy indeed in preparation and use, even for the type of small projects I prefer. As for clean-up, it's a nightmare being space-hogging, water-greedy and very wasteful, even though I try to reuse mixing vessels and protective equipment as much as possible.

Welcome from an expat from Preston, now in Phoenix, Arizona - with air conditioning. Enjoy this group: nice people, fun and helpful chats and suggestions.
