Greetings from Oshkosh!
Hello all!
As is custom (and required) for all new members on this forum, I am writing an introductory post to get to know the community and to introduce myself to the forum. I'm an aspiring classical musician/composer who loves assembling and designing paper models on the side. I love working with model kits concerning aviation, especially WWII bombers and early jet fighters. (Although that was probably easy to guess from my profile photo and location...) Of those, I particularly enjoy working with Polish kits (GPM, Orlik, Modelik, Maɫy Modelarz, etc.) because of the detail that the designers put into the interior. I find being able to look inside a model and actually see something there make these kits all the more rewarding to finish. Unfortunately, I'm not as successful as I'd like to claim with paper modeling, but many great artists start with a lot of failures. Although I'm sure the wonderful people on this forum will recommend techniques, materials, suggestions, design tips, etc. to help me improve my work. I can't wait to start modeling with you all! -theOshkoshModeler |

Welcome! I have a hard time with aircraft, but I do have one of my models (meaning I built it) sitting in a financial advisor's office in Oshkosh. Before TruChoice Financial decided that external marketers were too much of a 'fiscal and legal liability', Jason was one of my agents.
So when Jesse came out with the Oshkosh M-ATV MRAP, I built it for him. ![]() You can find it at Oshkosh M-ATV MRAP << Papercruiser.com I know it isn't an aircraft, but it sure builds well and has a somewhat local connection to you Here's mine

Great work! Pretty faithful recreation of the real thing. ![]() Sometimes you see those driving down the street fresh off the assembly line. A different kind of Oshkosh truck is featured in a model I'm going to work on for a relative of mine: ![]() (Angraf #102 Patriot with an Oshkosh HEMTT included) It's no aircraft, but it looks like a fun, challenging model so it should be a great building experience. Perhaps I'll post a thread along the way... |

Welcome. I used to live in OSH and will be returning for AirVenture in a couple of months. Maybe we can meet up if you have time at that busy time. I mostly build armor these days, but have made an airplane model here and there, and I used to work on the 1:1 scale ones before I retired.

I live in Ripon!
I'm 20 miles west of Oshkosh. We should get together for a chinwag someday.
