Ryan XF2R-1 Darkshark

Forgot I had my own subsection of the forums. My modelers A.D.D. has kicked in and I decided I wanted a slightly simpler project to work on when the Skyraider has me burned out.

After doing an image search I came across the attached 3 view which looks like it's pretty good except for the low resolution. The file came from a site called solidmodelmemories.net (I was unable for some reason to click the link on the pic in image search) so I've spent some time searching through that site trying to find the file with hopefully greater resolution, but i have come up empty. Admittedly my searching skills are mediocre at best, so if someone is up to it and can find it I would be grateful.

Thank you both, that's what I was looking for. I've been to airwar.ru and got that 3-view but after close examination I think the SMM is far superior.

I'm hopeful that given the simple geometry of this plane it might not take that long to finish(circular fuse cross sections).

I keep trying to use JavaFoil to get the coordinates of the airfoils but I can't get it to give me what i want.

For instance i select the NACA 5 digit airfoils in the drop down menu then type in the airfoil i want but every time I clear the coordinates and reenter it it always comes up with the same airfoil. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Can't get anything out of JavaFoil currently either but Sydney is prepared to be helpful. (Like all Australians of course )
Mind you the result has a very bland look for an early laminar flow section. That may be why the FR-1/XF2R weren't particularly fast.

Thanks for the link Looker that looks like it might be a nice little program, but I used the coordinates it supplied and it didn't look too much like a laminar flow section. I'm fairly familiar with that family of airfoils and What Rhino drew using those coordinates looked more like a airfoil from the 4 digit family than the 5 digit.

The airfoil the piper cherokee uses comes from that family although I think is has more camber than the Darshark, I might just use that one in the knowledge that no one will be able to tell.

I love a fuselage with circular cross sections. I'm not sure the cowling and especially the turbine air inlet is up to spec but that's the easiest fuselage to design that I've ever done.

Gotta love the tubular fuselages.

Hey Gil if you're watching this one I'm looking at the wings now especially the jet intakes in the wing root and wondering if you have any input on how they faired that into the airfoil shape?

Anyone else feel free to jump in if you know something. Or if anyone is close to Chino and the Planes of Fame Museum and can get some good pics of their Fireball that would be helpful. The one area of the plane I haven't seen any pictures of yet in my searching is the cockpit, so again any help is appreciated.
