I have to ask, why do you think Sooners are having more problems with the snake than other folks? (Like how many Sooners does it take to replace a light bulb?)
Or are American and English now mutually incomprehensible languages?

"Okies" is a name sometimes given to people from the state of Oklahoma in the USA. "The Sooner State" is the motto of Oklahoma. "Sooners" is a nickname of the people from Oklahoma derived from an incident in which folks were supposed to wait for a specific time before they rushed out to claim land during the Oklahoma Land Rush in the late 1800's in what would become the state of Oklahoma but a bunch of them left "Sooner" than they should have thus gaining an advantage in claiming some prime land.
