A word to the wise ... if you reduce the Canon falcon, reduce the thickness of the paper you use. I made this a lot more difficult on myself than it needed to be

Don't know if this model has been covered already
(I am too lazy to reread this entire thread! lol sorry) but I found some photos on my camera that I had not retrieved. Just before Xmas, when I was building the Scherft Owl for my Mother I also built the European Robin by Malcolm Topp. Another present for my Mum. Another model I picked up at the 2014 IPMC. In Canada (as in North America I assume) the Robins are quite large with very distinct red(orange) breast patches. English Robins are much smaller (less than half the size) and the breast colour does not glow quite so vividly. Since we are English, my Mum misses her little Robins. Malcolm Topps model is lifesize and looks like a fairly simple kit. However it turned out to be a little trickier than I had imagined. Mainly because I had no experience with Topp's style of design and assembly and a bit of confusion with the instruction diagram. The model comes with a nice large sheet exploded view style diagram. Basically no verbal/text instructions, just numbers and arrows. Getting started is the trick...the diagram (I found) a bit confusing and I had to stare at it for a while and test fit parts a few times. Same when attaching the wings...test fit everyhting until you understand how you are going to glue things into place. Anyway, heres a few pics of the assembly. I won't bore you with a full build report. If you have specific questions about the procedure, please ask. I still have to grab a couple of pics of the completed model and I will post them.

i was apprehensive in posting this, but i did notice a couple non- avian theropods in this thread, and at least this is an archosaur also adapted to flight., heck, birds are reptiles anyway. heres a azhdarchid pterosaur by the name of hatzegopteryx thambema. it's in 1: 48 scale. i'm working on the wings at the moment

Its a bird!
See the academic dinosaur research - it appears that most of them were birds and feathered!
