Barn Owl 1/1

I'm trying to build a barn owl in scale 1/1, the wingspan is 70 cm.

Barn Owl 1/1-img_4637.jpg Barn Owl 1/1-img_4638.jpg

The head has a beak provisional, the final one is enlarged by 120%.

The attachment of the head to the body must be made extemporaneously.
and, in this way, I will try to give at the facial disc more triangular shape

I have yet to draw the wing coverts.

bye, matt77

Looks good to me. I did the Canon American Eagle at 200% for a local sign shop. It has an over 4 foot wingspan. I laminated the internal body, and wing structure to poster board. I wish I had laminated the whole thing to poster board. The poster printer paper isn't quite stiff enough to build with at that size. I think it would have been more durable. Its held up pretty well to have been hanging up on fishing line for almost 2 years. The second photo link below shows the head only laminated to poster board.

Lovin' it already Matt. The construction method looks similar to The ZardOz owl I'm currently doing a build thread on, but the feather prints look far more detailed. Gorgeous. I'd love to apply my techniques to this. Will you be making it available at all when you've finished the design?

Johnny.

This is awesome! I like birds and photograph them a lot. One suggestion: Try to make the eyeballs 3D; they shouldn't pop out but become a bit concave in order to increase the realism.

Yes Johnny, this is the model of ZardOz, after treatment of estrogen and aesthetic.

I found it in the hard drive of an old pc, I had recolored (for fun) years ago, but, from its folder is missing some tables, as the shoulders and the feathers of the back, I should paint again.

The card model consists of 11 boards in A4. After the likely changes will give it to anyone who asks, but I will no put it in the download folders (of Paper Models.com) because there is no permission from the designer.

soon, matt77

I echo what someone said in another post. Anyone should be honored to have you do a recolor of their models

love the owl

If I could be a bird, I'd be an owl. . . Don't care what species.
