Kevin, some good info on cats' vision.
Here's what one of the new kittens (Stripes) got into this morning. Fuzzy came over to check it out, but Stripes doesn't like to share his catches. Except with me. So after attempting to get it away from him, he runs into the house and starts playing with it in the middle of the living room floor. Which resulted in both going out the door and having it closed behind them. This one is a Giant Arizona Centipede (Scolopendra heros arizonensis - banded) I think since it was around 7-8 inches long and from the coloring. Can't believe he didn't get bit. |

Our cat, Jangers has recently been leaving 'presents' (mouse parts) on the back step, to be discovered next morning.
I know he loves us, but a meow and a purr will do just fine !

They are very nourishing.
Into a food processor with some Marmite, pepper and salt, and a knob of butter. The result - a nice crunchy spread - which you can also share with Jangers if you want.

Carol's both vegetarian and squeamish (and feels sorry for the mice!)

Aaah - thats fine. If Carol's vegetarian she can have the stomach contents, and you can have the crunchy bits.

Hi Guys,
My wife and I are enjoying your mouse postings. VERY FUNNY and ENTERTAINING. We too have our two outside kitties EBONY and KITTY leaving mice, birds and a bunny for us to find. They are leaving them as gifts for us. We thank them and then remove them to the trash. Our two kids, CALLIE and BRUMBY find anything in the house for us as well. We even have a critter hunt sheet for them on the fridge. Best Regards, Gary |

Strangely now, our 5 now rarely kill anything - the odd bird ends up as history.
Our biggest and most efficient killer has now taken to lying in the area where we feed and water the birds. She watches them, and they ignore her and wonder around unworried. They clearly are able to detect a hunting or play attitude in the cats. Our catches now also arrive mostly alive. Bats, mice and birds. We then "hospitalise" these temporarily and all is well. We were recently given an African Striped Mouse, the cutest and friendliest little mouse I have seen. As they live off succulents, and we have a large bed in the front, this became the mouses new home. Hopefully there is a new family there!

Hi Guys,
Here are a few pictures of me walking my baby girl CALLIE. We have her and Brumby leash trained. We gear up before walks. It's alot safer and we can check them for critters when I bring them back into the house. Hope you enjoy the pictures. She and Brumby sure enjoy the catnip we grow in our yard. Best Regards, Gary |
