If you do two pets, whether two cats or a cat and dog, their personalities will have a huge impact on whether this is a good experience. My folks have two brother cats, and it is amazing how they get along. I have two strays, about the same age it turns out, but one entered the home years after the other, and the dynamic is less than perfect, but it works. You just have to know that pets are a bit of work, you have to invest time with them, and things won't be perfect. If your expectations aren't too high, pets can bring a lot of happiness.

I have to agree with SW forests and VK.
I only suggested that a male and female would work together because
we have Callie and Brumby. But we also had Tribble who did as much to raise them as we did.
Also,,, I had a Red Doberman female ( Sasha ) and my kitty Ludalf together when I was in college. They loved each other and played together, ETC.
Ludalf is my kitty I had with me on the road as a musician too.
So,,, cats and dogs can get along and as VK said,,,
Just let things happen and you will have lots of happiness.
I also tell folks that dogs and cats are good for your heart and soul.

Have you seen this one Gary? it drives next door's tom crazy if I leave it by the back door.

It's an American Short Hair from Canon, but expanded to A3 size. Which brings it up to almost life size. I added some mono filament whiskers to make it more life-like, but they don't show too well in the pictures.

Fantastic job on the canon kitty model.
I bet it does drive the other cat crazy.
I have the canon cat models too, but have
not thought of doing that with one of them.

Hi Guys,
My wife took this picture today of me watching birds outside
our front window.
My kitty Brumby climbed onto me like he does every day,,,
but this time he decided to take a nap on my back. ( HA HA )
Guess I'm glad his sister Callie did not join him as well.

I think cats are perfect for a pet. They always want to snuggle or stay close to his owner. My kitten used to come to me all the time.

Cats are wonderful animals.

I agree with you N96HBK.
Here are Brumby and me doing dishes when he was a kitten.
And also today after dinner.
He and his sister Callie are going to be 8 years old this year.
Guess I am our kitties climbing and scratching post. ( HA HA )
And I would not have it any other way.
My kitties are my children.

Yes, cats and dogs are like part of the family. Actually, I think all pets are part of the family!!!
