That excerpt sums it up pretty well. Of the domesticated animals, only the cat chose to be domesticated. Yet interestingly, I have met cats that would put dogs to shame in regards to loyalty and affection.

Beautiful Kitty laying on my Columbus Depot Jacket and Buddha Cat sleeping on my lap...these two always crowd out my wife and me every night when we go to bed. Nice of these cats to let my wife and I sleep in "their" bed....

Sasha is the same, it's her bed not ours. During the winter months she trying to get into the bed the same time as us ! Then all you get is a happily purring furry bundle pressed you against you - and we wouldn 't want it any other way.
