I don't know what to conclude about G-man's temperature sensitivity any more.
He is a rescued stray after having gotten injured on a local road.
I know he doesn't do cold real well, just like me.

But even after 12 years now I'm not sure how we compare on heat tolerance.
And especially since my own heat tolerance has taken a recent nosedive as my own health has declined a bit further.

I was born in the southwest desert and raised in the southern and deep south pine forests, so heat used to be my friend, a lot less so now.

All our cats (6 at the moment) also lie on their backs when they are hot.

They also do that when they are cold - in front of the heater.

Here is Mandiki (a domesticated feral) doing just that last night.

Except when he gets in fights and gets injured, that is the most normal position for Rat. Urchin rarely lays on her back

Well, last evening we had to let our Cammie cross the bridge. After a valiant 2 1/2 years fighting diabetes (half her life),
my hobby buddy, computer pal, and overall "get me through the day" partner, we had to say goodbye. Cammie was only

the weekend, all we could do was make her as comfortable and loved as possible. After conferring with the vet, we decided
that she was saying her goodbyes. Over the weekend, Cammie had visited all of her favorite spots, making sure we
saw her somewhere before moving to the next. She did not have the energy to jump, but early yesterday, she had gotten up
on the sofa by my computer, where she would faithfully be anytime I was working on a model or doing research.
We will miss her meeting us at the bedroom door each morning, or meeting us at the door after a day out, or after our evening walks.
I know she is pain free now, and our heartache will diminish eventually. But I will miss my second best friend.
Rest well little girl.

It's a very melancholy day. It was one year ago we had to say goodbye. Hard to believe
it's been a year. And there is always something to remind us of the happiness she brought
during her short time here.

You're still missed baby girl!
