Dog by Canon... My first build!

Today is a fun day! I finished my first model, a little dog!

As a new comer from plastic modeling, I had to start with something "easy". That little dog was fun to put together.

I love paper models! I used Tamiya masking tape to hold some pieces together while gluing and it helped a lot to get a tight fit in some areas.

Basic HP inkjet on sale with 110 lbs, 200 gsm cardstock from Staples.

Obviously the finish is not the best, I hope to learn new techniques and get better at it in the future!

Thank you all for being such an inspiration. I am glad I joined the community of paper modelers.

All the best,

SpaceShipOne

Outstanding! I know you want to do Sci Fi and aircraft. Paper models are generally organic/ curvilinear or cubic/rectilinear. Most aircraft are curvy, so these little Canon animals will help you develop the proper skills for aircraft. This type of model amazes me more than buildings because flat paper wasn't meant to form curves, and yet it can.

Thank you guys.

I have discovered a world of craft I never knew existed. There are so many free plans out there and a very supporting community of builders, I love it.

I think my second model will be also one from the Canon website.

A great start for you. It's much nicer than my first modeling efforts, that's for sure!
