Lots of real life pushing things aside, as well as too many unfinished models stacking up, but the A3 Tiger now has a tail and one back leg.
As I found with the shelved A4 one, stuffing this with tissue will make it way too heavy and over strain the card tabs during construction. Not to mention the large number of toilet rolls getting used! So, after a successful experiment with the smaller Wow Cat, I'm going to use builders foam filler on this one. However, the DIY spray can type is awkward to use a little at a time, and is very wasteful, so I've invested in a pukka builders gun applicator. This comes with extra extension tubes to reach right inside to deliver small amounts, and it can be shut off without massive, messy clean up operations every time. It only arrived this afternoon though, so I haven't used it at all yet. Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. |

Made the other back foot today (and another minion ). Maybe get the leg finished tomorrow. Only a blood test and a flu jab at my local GP surgery to interrupt me.
The ideal display space probably would be the windowsill by the front door, but I'd have to curl the tail somehow for him to fit on there. Even without a tail he may be too big though, so he'll probably end up guarding the conservatory door. Keep on snippin' ... Johnny. |
