The Finished Item

OK - after touching it up with watercolour pencil and paints, I resprayed it with matt varnish and then highlighted the eyes with gloss varnish.

The last thing to do was then attach it to the base.

Picture 1 - As I want to make it so I can take it apart for storage, I simply inserted the wire right through the base and then bent the last inch slightly.\ If it is the pulled back in, it is perfectly secure and can be taken down of needs be in the future, by pulling the wire right out.

Some quick pictures of the finished bird - the first one with me holding it to give a sense of scale.

Vinalssergio155, Don, Neil and Erik.

Thank you all for your kind words. Appreciated.

I went a little to town with the tutorial, but I really hope that it will encourage others to build this bird.

And one thing I must mention is that it was one of the best-fitting models I have ever made - not an issue or a struggle anywhere!

So given this fact, hopefully everyone will rush off to find a bit of wood, some wire and then order the kit from Johan and start!

Well done and great tutorial! I really enjoy Johan's work and the fact that the models are so lifelike.
