Very neat Glen.
Those are four very good images.
But I vote for either the first or the second picture to to fool me as the real thing.

Thanks Mike! A fun project for me not terribly complicated to build maybe this thread will encourage others to give it a go, it seems complex to look at on the pages, but designed for easy building.

Thank you, did the fluffy owls leave the nest ? It seems odd that their flight feathers come in so much earlier than their body feathers and they don’t stay in the nest very long.

It shouldn't be leaving the nest for at least another week or two, so I am guessing that the Mama owl laid this one very early and it didn't show itself until it was about ready to take off. I really don't know how it got into that other tree to begin with, and I figured it would have only moved as far as it could walk by now. I was shocked to see it fly Saturday morning. Barney pretty well stayed in one place for his first week out of the nest, and this one lands on the ground and gets back into the trees (in steps) already. Had to have hatched abnormally early

Spectacular pictures Glen! Those claws are very impressive weapons to the bird. I wouldn't want to be held by those... Great build!

Cheers,
Erik

Thanks Kevin I was surprised to see this as a designed feature, my photoshopping was a bit shabby in places but fun to try...
