Simple fish models

Here are my recent efforts for fish models, I have the good luck to be familiar with some saltwater fish, these are a few fish models…
The Moorish idol is a canon papercraft enlarged a bit, the box fish which looks way too large compared to the others is a repaint of Scherft model yellow box fish, and the Saddleback butterfly is my recent effort to make a butterfly model, which are so wonderful in colors and familiar to most snorkeling in tropical seas around the world.

These look great, Glen!

Didn't you used to dive at Kwajalein? Or am I misremembering?

Thank you Don, your memory is very close! I did visit Kwajalein but my underwater time was in Majuro, another atoll south of there. It was 40 years ago now ha, but I won’t forget those fish! I have pictures of quite a few from Hawaii since and there are some different fish, and many of the same fish are in both places. When I do get a chance to snorkel it is very similar to birding trying to identify the fish….

This is interesting Glen. Certainly the large flat colorful surface of this type of fish lends itself well to card and paper. You can get some nice results with colors, as seen in your images.

They are so difficult to do justice to, but you are right Mike at least for the simple methods..
