I painted the above-water hull with yellow ochre and after sufficient drying I brushed on a very dark brow, called Van Dijks Bruin (Talens oil paint). Immediately afterwards I wiped the brown off with a rag, just so that the brown sticked in the wood structure of the plastic. The result satisfied me.
